Who we are

Child Friendly Holidays is the trading name of two companies run by the Tanswell family: A.M.D.G. Limited, company number 03207887, which lets the cottages at Hamptons Farmhouse in Kent, and Child Friendly Holidays (France) Limited, company number 09487205, which lets Sol du Mazel in the Dordogne. Each company is the data controller for enquiries and bookings about its own property. Both are registered in England and Wales at Hamptons Farmhouse, Park Road, Hadlow, Tonbridge, Kent TN11 9SR. What we collect

When you send an enquiry we receive your name, email address, phone number if you give it, the cottage and dates you are interested in, who is coming, and your message.

When you book we also hold the names of the people in your party, your address, payment records, any notes you give us about your stay such as cots or dietary needs, and our correspondence with you.

Our web host keeps the usual server logs, which include the internet address of your device and the pages you visit. We do not use these to identify you.

Why we use it

• To answer your enquiry and arrange a booking. This is needed to take the steps you have asked for before entering a contract with us.
• To manage your stay, take payment and deal with anything that arises. This is needed to perform our contract with you.
• To keep the accounting and tax records the law requires.
• To send you occasional emails about availability and news from our cottages, if you have enquired or stayed with us. We do this under our legitimate interest in keeping in touch with our guests. You can opt out when you enquire and in every email we send. We never pass your details to anyone else for their marketing.

Who handles it for us

• Formspree (Formspree Inc., United States) receives what you type into the enquiry form and emails it to us. Formspree keeps a copy on its servers. Its privacy notice is at formspree.io.
• Bluehost (Newfold Digital, United States) hosts this website and our email.
• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this site. Your browser fetches them from Google, which sees your internet address.
• OpenStreetMap supplies the maps on the contact and info pages. Your browser fetches them from openstreetmap.org, which sees your internet address and may set its own cookies inside the map frame.

Where a provider is outside the United Kingdom, the transfer relies on the provider’s standard contractual terms.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: three years from our last contact with you.
• Bookings: seven years after your stay, to meet accounting and tax record rules.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or tracking. The only exception is the map frame described above, which is served by OpenStreetMap.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, object to our using them, or ask us to stop sending marketing emails. Email office@tanswell.org and we will reply within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

We will post any changes to this notice on this page and update the date at the top.
