Lovely Cottage in the Kent Countryside

The perfect place to relax and enjoy the Kent countryside. We had a week of beautiful sunny days and amazing sunsets, the grounds of the property are truly lovely and we sat out every evening on the covered terrace enjoying a glass of wine and the sounds of owls hooting. The cottage was well appointed, comfortable and exceptionally clean and the generous welcome pack was a really nice bonus. Andy & Katie are lovely hosts and very welcoming, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay to families or couples.

We had the chance of not only spending time in this incredible holiday cottage but also we got MARRIED in the beautiful grounds!! Andy and Katie never stopped helping out and moved heaven and earth to make our special day the most magical time! They are fabulous hosts and people The scenery and the grounds are a sight you would never get tired of; stunning! The cottages are homely, comfy and just what you need. Then let's talk about the kids....trampoline, football goals, massive inflatable slide followed by a zip wire that even the bride went down. We could not have had a more perfect day at Hamptons Farmhouse, Andy and Katie helped make the day so special! We had a lovely ceremony followed by the most fun party. It had a festival feel on the big open field, live band, food, pop up bar and ice cream van. It will be a day that lives with Sophie (my beautiful wife) and I forever. We have had lots of feedback from our guests that could not get over this amazing venue, place and scenery! One of our favourite moments was when everyone had gone home and we played cards in the court yard, chatting to the other guests and relaxing with a nice glass of vino! Thank you so much Andy and Katie for opening up your amazing holiday cottages, land and property to us! This has made our dreams come true and we will never forget it!!

Located within the grounds of Hamptons farmhouse, in a rural setting with some stunning countryside, Willow cottage was our 'temporary home' for 4 months in-between moving home and we were really made to feel 'at-home'. Andy and Katie were the perfect hosts (as were their lovely children), nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel welcome from the first day till the last! As a middle-aged couple we loved it here, but if you have young children, love the countryside setting, as well as the rabbits, ducks and chickens and would like the children to have a free and easy adventure then this is the perfect place for a holiday! We will always look back with great fondness on our time of staying at Willow cottage, it exceeded all our expectations and the lovely memories will stay with us for a long time. I don't think we can resist a return!

Following a year of our house and back garden, we needed a change of scenery for our family break - however we didn't want to go too far, or be committed to going "out and about", so I searched high and low for a comfortable cottage with a spacious garden - and found exactly that in Willow Cottage. On arrival we were greeted very warmly by Katie who gave our kids and ourselves a grand tour, including the chicken coop, rabbits and new ducklings - which our kids absolutely adored! The garden is huge - beyond huge! So much space for the kids to run around in, climbing frames galore, trampolines and bikes/ride on vehicles to enjoy. We had a couple of days out in the local area - visiting Diggerland for our 4 year old digger obsessed son, Ashford Forest (Winnie the Pooh) walks and a short visit to the beach, but the rest of our week we spent enjoying relaxing in the garden. Katie and Andy were extremely helpful in answering any questions we had, and even re-inflated a bouncy castle they'd had out for a family birthday party, so my son could enjoy it for one day - which was magical! Their family were also extremely welcoming, and my son thoroughly enjoyed his time playing with them in the garden. The cottage itself feels bigger than it looks in the photos. Even with one bedroom, we managed with a travel cot for our daughter, our son had the double bed with a bed barrier to stop him falling out, and we shared the sofa bed in the lounge which was ample for us. Definitely added to our "we shall visit again" - we'll be in touch with Katie and Andy to see about their other properties on-site as whilst we managed with the one bedroom as our children grow up, two bedrooms would be ideal!

Willow Cottage has been a fantastic home away from home. It's comfortable, well equipped, and has lots of things to do within the gardens, but also the walks nearby. For kids, there are plenty of places for them to explore and play, and for the adults there's an open-sided barn with a seating and a log burner. Andy and Katie have been extremely hospitable to us and a delight to chat with. Would highly recommend any time of year!

Willow Cottage is a pretty and practical cottage surrounded by endless country walks and set in the lovely peaceful rural setting of Hadlow/Plaxtol. The grounds are child-friendly with a vast amount of activities for every age group and plenty of things for the adults to do as well. Our God children have enjoyed the trampoline, swings, sandpit, wendy house and they loved the chickens, rabbits and ducks. It will be wonderful in the summer but we were there for 5 weeks in November and December and weather was a little cold. The cottage is very well equipped with kitchen items and supplies, travel cot and towels and the heating is cozy warm, the storage is spacious and the full-sized sofa bed in the lounge is handy when friends stayed for the weekend. There was a very generous welcome package including eggs, milk, wine, bread and much much more which meant we didn’t have to do a shop for a couple of days. We were using Willow Cottage as a stop gap between moving houses but in the end it became a very nice winter holiday. Andy and Kate are such lovely hosts very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. The peace and quiet was very much needed an ideal place to do as much (or little) as you want. There are lots of attractive places to visit in the area and Andy and Kate have obviously worked hard to provide quality accommodation with nice personal touches, if we were missing anything or needed information they came up trumps in a matter of minutes. We would highly recommend a stay here. Thank you Andy & Kate.

So pleased we found Willow Cottage for our stay in Kent! The cottage is clean, bright and spacious and has everything you need in the kitchen to make life easy, especially with a 2 year old. Lots to explore in the gardens and play equipment for children. We loved being able to get up and have something to do on our doorstep and saying good morning to the rabbits each morning too. Lovely welcoming hosts, who even took the time and trouble to post back a hoodie left by accident when packing to leave! Good location for exploring this part of Kent.

Beautiful, peaceful, rural setting with wonderful walks from the doorstep. The grounds and child-friendly (from very little to teenage) activities are astounding and vast. My teenage kids have enjoyed the very large trampoline (one of 2), swings in the trees, big zip wire, table tennis and morning greetings from the chickens and ducks. One week into our several month stay and we are still discovering new places to sit and new things to do. The cottage is really well equipped (kitchen supplies, heating, storage and more) and spacious for 2. We have used the comfortable and full-sized sofa bed in the lounge too, and short-term the cottage works for 4 as well. There is not a desk but the good sized dining table is working well for me to work at during the day. Katie and Andy are wonderful, welcoming and flexible hosts. Nothing is too much problem, for instance they have accepted mail for us and allowed us to invite family over for a few hours. There was a very generous welcome package including pears from the farm. We will be using Willow Cottage, and the others onsite for our future Kent visits, and expect family and friends will be doing so too. Thank you!

Lovely cottage very pretty and clean. Hosts were very friendly. It is a perfect setting if you have children there are lots of area's for them to explore. Loads of play equipment. Our Great grandchildren really enjoyed themselves when they visited. But it is very rural with narrow country roads. Not ideal for walking as the traffic is very fast. The Cottage could have done with a few more pots & pans, and it was a bit of a pain having to queue for the washing machine & tumble drier. We had a good time but the nearest pub was too far for us to walk so we had to drive everywhere which was not ideal for us.

We were lucky enough to secure all 3 cottages for a family get together and it was perfect for our needs. The cottage we stayed in had some issues with TV and WiFi but to be honest we’d gone for a week in the country, to spend time together and enjoy the surroundings so what did we need that for anyway?! The cottage was clean and well equipped- I have to say it helped that we had all three places so I advise befriending the neighbours if you don’t so you can do some borrowing of extra pans and kitchen equipment! The surroundings were amazing- a garden with enough to do to keep you entertained for a week and beautiful views and walks to be had. Also the hosts made us very welcome and accommodated our every need and having all of the animals around was a highlight for everyone! Would come again any time!

As you drive through the main entrance of Hamptons Farmhouse, you get a great feel for the holiday you will be having. A beautiful field full of games to play with trampolines, a zip wire and many other things to keep the kids entertained. The cottage itself is brilliantly stocked and so comfortable - I almost missed the snug that the kids could sleep in! Combined with the view of the back garden and the stunning former barn with somewhere to sit and chill or play table tennis. After you settle in, you can take a walk and meet the chickens and ducks that are often roaming free and make sure you say hello to Chuck the Dicken (a duck who is convinced he is a chicken, obviously) as well as the very cute rabbits. Just when you think you've found everything including the firepit by the classic caravan then you discover the treehouse and gnomes in the frivolous forest. I can't rave about this place enough as the whole site has so much to do and let you feel away from everything. The hooting of the owls in the evening just add to the whole feeling. Finally, Andy and Katie are the loveliest hosts and always available to help. My only complaint about the week we had there? Far too short.

Hamptons Farmhouse was just what we needed and felt like the most amazing location for our family with so much to do on site, we didn't need to go anywhere else to have fun and relax. We have a son who turn 10 years old whilst we stayed and our hosts helped us make it a special birthday celebrations. They went above and beyond to help, even with odd requests for icing sugar. Nothing was too much for them. We also got given free duck eggs, which made superb birthday cake. I would recommend this place in a heart beat to anyone who needs a relaxing stay where the kids can play and keep busy whilst you crack open the vino or just put the kettle on.

All the cottages are very pretty. They are comfortable, well furnished and well equipped. On arrival there was a basic selection of provisions and a vase of flowers which was very appreciated and homely. The gardens are beautiful with plenty of out door eating areas. The rabbits, sheep and ducks are great to watch. There is so much for children to do at this place, trampoline, forts, zip wire, tennis, plenty of bikes and scooters. Katie and Andy are very welcoming. What is noticeable is that the children are free to explore and make the most of the activities without endless warning signs, restrictions or ‘no go’ areas. Would love to stay here again when in the area and friends who visited thought it was wonderful.

We have stayed in Willow Barn on a number of occasions and as ever a delightful place to stay with all modern conveniences for first class self catering break. We love that there is a comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, and that it is cleaned thoroughly every week with change of linen and towels. Andy and Katie can’t do enough to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It was lovely in December when they went full out with Christmas decorations even providing real trees for each of the barns. We have enjoyed the Barn in all seasons and can recommend as a wonderful place to stay whatever time of year. Our grandchildren love it and they are made welcome and have free run of the beautiful gardens, surrounding fields and of course tennis court. They also get to handle and feed rabbits and ponies, and delight in the noisy antics of the ducks and chickens that wander freely around! Wonderful find that we are so pleased we came across.

Hamptons is located in the most beautiful part of Kent and has the most amazing views. Whilst staying there we enjoyed the peace and quiet and also the walks to the local pubs! We can recommend the Chaser and the Rifleman particularly. Katie and Andy and their children are exceptional hosts - nothing is too much trouble, they are so friendly and genuinely want you to enjoy your stay with them. We stayed in Willow Cottage which is perfectly equipped with everything you need if you fancy staying in and cooking after a day at the lovely local attractions. Hever and Leeds castles being favourites of ours. There is plenty to do on site as Katie and Andy have tried to ensure that there are areas for safe play for children with a little wildness in the woods thrown in. My husband enjoyed having a go in the small rowing boat on the pond with the kids as well as playing tennis, table tennis. One of the children's main source of pleasure is the electric mobility scooters! I can thoroughly recommend this beautiful holiday site so much so that I am returning for a long visit in September! It is also tempting me into visiting their French properties as well. If the standard is the same then we are in for a treat!

The bed is lovely and comfortable, lots of fluffy white towels, fresh flowers, and bright and airy. So much so we have booked for a further 4 weeks! The surrounding gardens are amazing and very child friendly and the more formal garden is beautiful. It has the most amazing willow trees and open barn that frames the beautiful Kent views. There is a lovely swing seat positioned just right for evening G&Ts and watching the sun plop behind the hills. A wonderful holiday location and the owners are delightful!

My husband and I stayed in Willow cottage at the Hamptons, with our two boys (aged 3 and 5) in the first week of August this year. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Andy, the owner of the cottages and one of his daughters showed us around, which was a lovely touch! The cottage itself was cosy, homely and very clean. My boys had the most wonderful time exploring the grounds. Each morning we would feed the horses in the neighbouring field and then our boys, who love animals, would visit the family's rabbits to pet and dote over. The cottages are surrounded by spaces ideal for children to run and play freely in. My children especially enjoyed playing in the hidden tree houses, whizzing along the zip wire and taking it in turns to row the boat on the duck pond. There was so much for the children to discover and do, we truly had an unforgettable holiday. Katie and Andy, the owners, have created an ideal place for a family holiday and the little touches dotted around, both in the cottage itself and the grounds, made it feel like a home from home. Absolut empfehlenswert !

We are now into our 4th week, 2 more to go. Willow Cottage for us was an excellent choice in waiting for our new home in Shoreham Kent to be completed. The cottage is comfortable, cleaned throughout and linen change once a week. During half term our grankids came to stay, 12 and 9 enjoyed the farm collecting eggs, feeding chickens, sheep and play areas immensley, using a boat on the pond, climbing the excellent tree houses.. Good walks, pubs, places of interest on your doorstep. Owners, Andy and Katie ( who is very Kool !!!) are helpful, friendly, on hand for any problem, or advice. We would have loved to have stayed even longer, but unfortunately for us all the cottages are booked.

We honestly can't say enough about how much we adored the cottage and our stay. The overall exterior and interior of the cottage are picturesque and instantly made us feel at home. When we arrived at the cottage we were very warmly greeted and spoilt with some very thoughtful token food and drink items. The cottage itself is more well equipped then we could have imagined; we packed well, intending to have a peaceful and relaxing stay, yet we returned many of our own items to the car as everything we could have needed was already supplied. The grounds surrounding the cottage are stunning and also, well equipped for whatever mood you may be in. We spent many a night sitting on the swinging bench, overlooking the rolling views and watching the sunset with a glass of wine in our hand - how wonderful. We then spent some days relaxing in the garden, to the sounds of only the birds and nearby animals. We also had a few rounds of table tennis, which made for a fun stay. To top it all, each evening, after either cooking a home cooked meal or popping to a nearby pub for dinner, we slept as soundly as babies in the luxurious bedding, which certainly made it difficult to get up in the morning. Even though the weather was very English during our stay, this did not matter one inch; we came for a peaceful stay, some time out away from the bustle of the city lights and traffic and that is exactly what we got. We were incredibly sad to leave and will certainly be coming back at every opportunity. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience Andy and Kate; we couldn't have asked for more.

We stayed at Willow Cottage in May 2014 for a week and had a much needed relaxing break. We received a genuinely friendly welcome from our hosts Katie and Andrew who very obviously enjoy sharing their lovely property with their guests. Willow Cottage is a charming conversion fully equipped with all and more to make for an enjoyable stay – even comfortable pillows – wonderful!! The welcome pack of provisions was so thoughtful with delicious treats. It was a pleasure to return to the cottage after busy days visiting national trust properties and gardens – Kent has the best! To relax in the tranquil garden in the evening swas pure heaven. Although just myself and my husband visited this time, we intend to return next year with our grand-daughter (if we manage to get booked!) as she will have the time of her life with all that’s on offer for children at Hamptons farmhouse. Thank you again Katie and Andrew and we wish you and your delightful family a fabulous summer.

This is the first time that we have stayed in Hamptons Farmhouse but definitely not the last! My husband, 5 & 11 year-old sons and I stayed for 2 weeks at Willow Cottage and love every moment of it. The cottage is cozy, comportable and well-equipped in the wonderful grounds of the stunning view of the countryside. Our hosts Katie & Andy were so kind and helpful. My kids enjoyed playing tennis, zip-lining, running in the garden, exploring tree house etc. Fantastic place for kids really! My husband whose passion is road bike, had a wonderful time cycling up and down small hills around the neighbourhood everyday. Me, I loved taking a small walk in the garden, watching rabbits hopping and running in front of me. They were so lovely. Thank you very much Katie & Andy for your hospitality. We had such a great time staying here!

We had a wonderful week at Willow Cottage. I haven´t seen such a lovely and cozy holiday cottage accommodation before! It was so comfortable ,nice and clean and very well equipped with more things than we would need. All the little extras like the flowers in every room made us feel welcome and very much at home. We enjoyed breakfasts and sunset evenings outside under the trees. Our kids loved to play in the beautiful big garden with all the playground equipment, (they liked especially the trampoline and the long zipline), even after our days out in London. Andy was so helpful and friendly all the time and thanks for sending us our lost coats! Thanks Katie and Andy for a great stay!

The cottage has been cleverly and beautifully converted. It is superbly well appointed and extremely comfortable. making it feel pleasingly spacious and light. The surrounding grounds are wonderful, full of enchanting delights, especially for little ones but also for adults. The trampoline, caravan, tennis court and child's car are all fabulous fun. And the setting is glorious, in stunning Kent countryside with superb views over the Bourne valley. The owners and their family are hugely welcoming and generous, making guests feel very relaxed. This is the best family holiday cottage we have ever seen. Strongly recommended.

I stayed 4 nights at Andy and Katie's place and enjoyed it immensely. Although the cottage is hundreds of years old, the interior is brand new, very comfortable and fully equipped (including the kitchen). We made long walks through the countryside which is immensely beautiful, rustic, full of wildlife, and with an enjoyable sprinkling of welcoming pubs at comfortable intervals. Although part of a charming old farm, the cottage is totally private. Whilst I was alone this time (on business), I'll definitely come back with the family: with lots of space to run around the kids will enjoy the tree house, the animals (horses, chickens, sheep), the gipsy caravan, zipline and the camp fire at night!”

Don't miss the chance to stay at Willow Cottage. It is beautiful and offers a peaceful retreat. The cottage is equipped with everything you could want at a high standard. Would be very cosy in the Winter too. Wonderful hosts and in the area good eateries and places to ramble.

We had a truly marvellous stay at Willow Cottage, which is in a beautiful setting and perfect for exploring the Kent countryside with fun family trips to local castles and woodlands. It was a great hit with our five-year old and we look forward to returning!

Really peaceful and in a beautiful location. Access to lots of lovely walks and the grounds are amazing for children - our 4 and 6 year old have loved exploring all the play equipment and surrounding space. The cottage itself is well equipped, warm and comfortable and the Wi-Fi is reliable and fast which is a bonus. Access to the utility room with washing machine and dryer has also been really useful! Highly recommend
