Getting into London We find the best way into London is to drive to Sevenoaks (or Tonbridge) train station, parking is near the station (2 Bradbourne Park Rd, Sevenoaks TN13 3LJ – £8.00 for the whole day), then take the train in to Charring Cross or London Bridge (~35 mins) and then travel on by Underground.
If you travel after 9:30 the costs are considerably cheaper. You can benefit from family tickets and can also get travel-cards which mean you can jump on busses as well as the ‘tube’ as you wish. To get the right ticket just ask at the station/underground ticket office.
Trains are so frequent you can just turn up but if you want to plan and find prices go to http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
Driving and the Congestion Charge and Emissions Zone Charge
Drive if you must but it could take anything between 75 and 150 mins to get in depending on your time of travel. Be aware that you may need to pay the congestion charge if you go into some particular zones . This is £12:50 per day and will increase if you don’t pay it before or on the day.
There is also an Ultra Low Emissions Zone charge which is £12:50 in 2019
